As part of my adventure into the Whenua team I have embarked on a discovery of books! I wanted to introduce teacher reading to the students, no just of picture books but of chapter books and novels, and also book clubs reading circles for students to discuss concepts around a novel they are reading. I have found finding the right text for Year 3 & 4 students particularly hard. Many of the books I have read have been at a higher level of understanding and concepts that I would like to read to them or for them to read themselves.
I have begun to keep a record and burp on each book I have read, what I thought of it and what age group I think would enjoy it most.
